Marital submission is lovely, but it is often difficult. Like climbing on the back of a tandem bike, a woman's role in marriage requires effort and coordination.
They discuss the difficult marriage (as referenced in 1 Pet. 3:1-2), as well as the more typical Christian marriage between an average Christian woman who expects much from her average Christian man doing his best.
